A New Baby Girl!

I am so excited to introduce everyone to my new little niece Anabelle (sp?) Kathleen! Amy delivered her at 3:07 this afternoon! She was a tiny little thing at 6lbs 12oz (tiny tome....maybe not you!) and was 19.5" long! She has a head full of thick, curly dark hair...so I will be teaching her the art of straightening hair! It is amazing how much she looks like Kameron...I will have to find some photos of him when he was tiny!

It was a smooth delivery for Amy and she is doing awesome!

I Want Barney!

"I want Barney!"
This is what I hear all day long.
There is nothing else Sawyer wants to watch on tv, no other movie will do, and the cd player must always have the singing purple dinosaur!
I have a lot of parents tell me they dont allow Barney in there house or they express how much they don't like him. I really do not understand this! Yes...he may be a little obnoxious...but what kid show isn't? Barney teaches good things and when Sawyer watches him, he sings, dances, hops, and just is just so happy!

Cuteness!

Today I went to the Picture People to help my friend Karen, she needed to train or meet a quota or something...she wanted to take Sawyer's photo! She got some awesome shots of him...but these two were my favorite!

We have a had a very non-busy week so far! Monday I had to work but it was not real busy. The last two days we have spent alot of time outside enjoying this gorgeous weather!

Since Monday was the end of summer :-( and the start of fall, I have been getting some decorations up! I bought the Holiday Home magazine (there is a photo some where) and I love it! There are so many great ideas! So I think this year I will be making some decoration...I will keep you posted about that! I would really love it if BG had a Halloween line to help motivate me ;-)!
I do not have to work tomorrow so I am just going to hang out with my little guy! We are patiently waiting the arrival of his new little cousin! We just can not wait to meet her!

This Weekend...

We did a lot of cleaning this weekend...I worked a lot inside doing some deep cleaning and Mark worked on the garage. Our garage has been completely neglected since we moved in...we have had a lot of stuff just sitting around that we really needed to get rid of. So I listed a bunch of it on Craigslist and got rid of alot ! Now Mark can finally start to clean and organize!
This morning I went to Walmart for routine shopping, and since my kid is completely spoiled...I went to the toy section to get a surprise for him (he was home with Mark). I picked out some little Tonka trucks that he loves so much when I saw a box that said Sawyer the Saw on it...and I knew I had to have it (for Saywer of course!). It is this cute little saw that makes real saw sounds and says cute little sayings! Now my little Soyjoy can really be just like his Daddy!
Today we went over to Misty and Chris's to watch the game and help celebrate there 10th anniversary (which was actually on Friday)! For those of you who don't know, Mark and I met at there wedding!
Misty made spaghetti (with homemade spaghetti sauce) and meatballs (thanks for the yummy turkey ones Misty)! There was also bread and salad. But best of all were the brownies...I thought Misty rocked cupcakes....holy cow you should eat her brownies!!! She put some symphony candy bars in the middle when she cooked them and oh my goodness...they were beyond words good!! I think I ate half the pan!
It was a good day. the kids had a blast playing together (sorry Misty I really meant to help you clean Drew's room!) and it was another great day hanging out with friends!

Non-Stop Fun!

Sawyer has been having some non-stop fun lately! Last saturday we went to a birthday party for Alexander (Landon's big brother), Sunday we went to my sister's for a good-bye party for Kelsie, Off to the track on monday, yesterday Landon came over all day and today his cousin Noah is here!
On a completly different subject, Sawyer no longer eats his bananas cut up, he eats it straight from the peel!

A Day At The Track!

Yesterday Mark had a track day at Heartland Park in Topeka. So I decided to take off work so Sawyer and I could go watch! Of course Sawyer woke up at 330 in the morning, so I thought it was going to be a horrible day...and there was no way I was going to deal with a grumpy tired boy at the track...but he laid back down at 7 and slept for three hours! We were good to go after that!
Of course Topeka is a little over an hour away...so it took us two hours! Traffic was horrible! Every where in Kansas I went they had the highway down to one lane or the exit I needed was closed! Thank goodness for the Garmin or we would have never have found it!
Mark, Joel and Cooper were all riding, so Sawyer had lots to see! I think he had fun, he just kept saying VROOM VROOM whenever he would see the bikes go by! It was a good thing he was there to "help" the guys with there bikes whenever they needed to work on them...I'm so happy that our friends our so patient with our little guy!
We had only planned on staying a few hours but after the nightmare trip there, we waited til Mark was done and he came home with us (he leaves at 5am to ride with Joel)!

"I Jump!"

"I jump"...this is what Sawyer wants to do all the time!

Usually he will climb on top of the fireplace step, a chair, the bed etc..., hold out his arms (indicating he wants you to catch him), say "I jump" and than jump. As I said in an earlier post, he will continue to jump even if you decide you are not going to catch him, which is how he got a big bruise on his forehead!
So the other day Mark took all the pillows off the couch so Sawyer could jump to his hearts content, and he did! As you can see it was lots of fun!

What Was Said Today...

Our pediatrician and our parents as teachers lady told us that by the time Sawyer is two he should have a vocabulary of at least 50 words. Out of curiosity I wanted to know how close he is to that goal, so all day long I tried to write down the words that he said.
Here we go...
Mommy, Daddy, I want milk, all done, yummy, i want a snack, i want a bite, cheese, Barney, remote, tv, truck, my ball, mine, bye bye, shoes, I want to help, I want up, happy, cup, water, juice, clap, fishie, hand, truck, good bye, pool, apple, hi, I jump, boat, night night, eat, no, bus, feet, more , hugs, doggie, pillows, sock, bike, towel, choo choo, beep beep, book, phone, hello, brush teeth.
This is just what I wrote down, there were more, and I can think of at least 15 more words that he uses on a regular basis.
I think he is good with his communication!

Things I Learned This Weekend...

****When Sawyer says "I jump" and holds out his arms for you to catch him, you had better be there to catch him, he is going to jump either way.

****Sawyer is not going to tell me when he is hurt, if he cuts his hand he is just going to get a towel and wrap it around and go on about his day. The only way I can know he is hurt is by following the trail of blood.
****Smores are awesome with peanut butter cups instead of hershey bars!
****Sawyer never gets tired of "helping" Daddy!
****Sending Mark out with his friends and putting Sawyer to bed makes for a great Saturday night!
****My kid rocks overalls!
****I hate cold weather and I am dreading winter.
****Finding a 24inch wall clock is going to be harder than I thought it was.
****After cleaning out my closet...I realized that I am going to need to do some major shopping for clothes...and I hate shopping.
****My mailman is the most lazy person ever...he pulled into my driveway and threw my packages out his window on my porch.

Friends!

When my friend Karen lost her sitter, I volunteered to help fill in when she needed somewhere for her kids to go. I thought it would be great for Sawyer to have someone to play with! Her oldest is in grade school so unless it is an evening or weekend he is at school. But her little one, Landon started hanging out with us! He came over randomly throughout the summer and him and Sawyer would play all day! I had no idea how much Sawyer was enjoying this til the other day when he cried when Landon left! All he kept saying was Landon go bye-bye (in the most pitiful little voice ever!) He continued to say it all week long, almost like he was confused as to why Landon had to go! So I called Karen and told her that she needed to bring Landon back soon...which worked out well for her since she has something going of tomorrow and did not really want to take him! So Landon will be coming over tomorrow to play with Sawyer!
Our friends have been a huge part Mark and I life...we even met at our friends wedding! So it makes me very happy that at such an early age he is being a friend...and it makes it even better that it is my friends child he is being friends with!

Our Labor Day Weekend!

Friday and Saturday we did not do much, just hung around the house and played!

Sunday we went to a BBQ at some friends house. They fried some turkeys...which I just love! There were a few other kids there so Sawyer got to run around and play! It is conflicting for me to see him playing with other (usually older) kids! I love to see him interacting and getting along but that also means he is growing up and I am not ready for that!
Monday it was nice enough to get in the pool, since this was probably going to be the last pool day this year, we decided to make it a pool party! We called and invited some people over, grilled some food and just hung out!
Today we are having a quiet day at home! Sawyer had so much fun and excitement the last two days he needs a wind down!
