Not Much going On!

It has been a very quiet relaxing week for us so far! We have just kinda hung around the house and played! Mark has not been getting off early everyday so it has been fun for me to get to watch them playing together!

Sawyer had a rough couple of weeks with sleeping, so we have been working on getting him back in a routine at bedtime, with a few changes! We now do relaxing time a hour before bedtime, which is lights dimmed, no running around, Barney on tv (instead of Cops or CSI which I think was giving him nightmares), brushing teeth and a book or two! So far so good!

I had ordered Sawyer's halloween costume last week and it came yesterday! We are so excited, it is even cuter in person than online! We have been working on saying trick or treat but he always forgets the or and just says trick treat!

That is all for now! I added some random photos of Sawyer playing!

What's Going On..

Not alot!

Sawyer has been teething this week and it has been rough on me...ok probably him too!
He has not acted like he was in pain, he just would not sleep! Normal for Sawyer would be to sleep 12-14 hours in day, this week it was 4-6 hours! He would just scream and cry at bedtime and I had no idea why! Finally by brilliant friend Karen suggested he might be teething, that sometimes with Landon he would have to sleep sitting up b/c laying down seemed to make it hurt more. So that night we gave him some Tylenol before bed and he slept all night...which meant I slept all night too!
This photo is how Sawyer wears his Daddy's hats! I think it is hilarious!

A Trip To The Pumpkin Patch!

Since the weather was nice out today, we decided we should go to the pumpkin patch!

Last year Sawyer was not really into it, I thought he was just to little We thought this year he would have fun, since he is a whole year older!

We were wrong! He really wanted no part of it. I only saw him smile a few times and that was only because we walked by a couple of babies!

Being the mean Mom that I am, I made him do everything anyway just so I could have some photos! They had lots to do! There were pony rides, a tire trail, a corn maze, race cars, tons of games, slides, swings, 4 moonwalks, a hayride, a train ride, a petting zoo and more that we never even got to!

We might have to try this again next weekend, maybe we will take Landon, it might be more fun if he has someone to play with!

The rest of our weekend was fun! Friday night Landon came over while his brother got to go to a carnival, we thought it was only fair that he got to have as much fun as his brother, so we took both boys to the Flip Zone for open gym! I can not say enough good things about that place! It is a great place for kids to run and play and have fun!

Saturday, Landon came over again while his brother played football. They spent the morning playing and fighting, I think they are acting more like brothers now! Oh well, it is still nice to have someone for Sawyer to play with!

An Exhausting Day!

Today Landon came over to play with Sawyer all day...and play they did! They wore me out and I was just watching them! They jumped off the couch on to pillows, they played trucks, they slid down the stairs, they danced, they rode the choochoo and the horse, they read books, they watched Barney, they built towers out of legos and blocks, and that was just the first couple hours....ok maybe not...but to me it sure felt that way! The best part is Sawyer is going to his house tomorrow to do it all again!
Sawyer has got this piggy bank I think for Christmas, and everytime Mark empties his pockets we always take the change and put it in the piggy. It has gotten to the point that everytime Sawyer hears change in my purse or Marks pocket he gets all excited and starts yelling "piggy piggy"! The other day we were looking at an animal book, when we got to the pig , he said "piggy bank"! So tonight I took some photos of him feeding his pig!
Update on the potty...he continues to potty on the toilet! It is just hard for all of us since we have to take the diaper off and back on again since we have no underwear! I had a couple people tell me about some size 2 underwear but I dont think that will fit him, he is only in a 12 month pant right now. I did order some 18 month online last night and keeping my fingers crossed. He is three pounds below the weight they have listed!

Potty Time!!

Earlier this evening Sawyer took off his pants and his diaper, went into the bathroom, climbed on his stool in front of the toilet, and asked me for a book. Although it seemed like an odd request, I got him a book. After I handed him the book, he pottied...in the toilet! We were so excited! I knew he wanted to do this but we were not really pushing the issue since I can not find underwear to fit him. Yesterday he spent the day with Landon so I am sure this is all from Sawyer watching Landon potty. So now I am not really sure what to do about the whole underwear issue!

A little earlier in the day Sawyer had told Mark he needed to go potty so Mark took him in the bathroom but he missed the toilet and got it all over his stool and the floor.

So it was an exciting day at our house! We will have to see what happens tomorrow!

A Day of Play!

The last two days Sawyer and I have pretty much sat around the house, we did a lot of playing and a lot of eating! I really think he is trying to make up for all the food he did not eat last week, he has just been a bottomless pit!

One of Sawyer's new favorite things to do are these wooden puzzles, the transportation one of course is his favorite! It has all he favorites, boat, choochoo, airplane, truck, etc.! We have others with animals but he just does not play with them as much!

This morning I heard him saying bye bye, so I go to look for him, I found him at the front door with my shoes on! He is so funny!

Mark got off work early today so we finally took Sawyer to get a haircut! He is such a handsome pants! I should have gotten a photo of the new do...maybe tomorrow!

Bath Fun!

Here is Sawyer just being silly in the bath tub! We don't do baths alot, usually I just stick him in the shower with Mark, so when he does get "bubbles" as he calls baths he gets really silly! Usually he sticks his face in the bubbles but I could not get him to do that for the camera, instead he chose to suck on his foot and toes!

A Quick Update!

*Saturday afternoon Sawyer spiked another temp (103), I gave him some Tylenol and laid him down for a nap. Around 7:30 that evening, he perked up and has felt good since!
*Mark made it home in one piece (not a scratch on him) from his motorcycle trip!
*My friend Karen told me she will take Thursday's off, so she will be keeping Sawyer while I am at work (have I mentioned lately how much my friend's rock?!?!)!

I promise I will post some photos soon!

Poor Sawyerbaby!

It has not been a good week for Sawyer!
Here he is sitting on our couch, which I am protecting with a blanket...here is why...

Wednesday night he spiked a temp of 104.3 degrees...it took us 5-6 hours to get it down to 101.

Thursday Mark stayed home from work to be with him, he needed to run some errands so he dropped him off over at Karen's house for a little while. She said when he got there he did not have a temp but after about an hour his cheeks were getting red and she checked him and he was around 100 i think. He was a little warm the rest of the evening but did ok.

About 12:30 am, he woke up screaming. We brought him into bed with us but something was not right because he just whined and cried til 3:30 when he finally fell back asleep.

Friday morning he seemed ok. We got up, went to the flip zone, came home and took a nap. Mark left to go out of town for the weekend while he was sleeping, so we went over to Kent and Amy's house to hang out. He was just starting to get his appetite back (after not eating Wed or Thurs) so I gave him a piece of pizza, he ate most of it. I had brought some cupcakes for the kids and of course he ate one of those!

When we got home we went next door (they were having a gathering) to say hi and the poor little gut just started vomiting, all over me, the neighbor, himself and his new Barney book (which upset him terribly)! I took him inside and again he started to vomit.

Today he woke up and he seems to be better. He has had a few moments where he seems a little warm and I have him on a very bland diet which is staying down.

I am not sure what made him sick, I am thinking maybe the pizza and cupcake was just too much for his empty belly, but really I have no clue! He does have two teeth coming in, I guess this could be it, but he has never had a such a severe reaction like this to teeth before.

Today my cousin had a wedding reception at the culinary institute, she was married Sept 13 in Courtland, KS. Amy was nice (and brave) enough to keep Sawyer (and his possible sickness), she was also nice enough to let me borrow a cute little dress to wear! It was a nice little celebration! Robin wore her wedding dress, which was so gorgeous! They had a sit down dinner of gougeres (french cheese puffs) with blackberry mustard dipping sauce, apple salad with baby greens and pistachio vinaigrette (yum-oh!), cedar plank-roasted salmon (the rub on the salmon was delicious!) with root vegetables (carrots, red pepper, mushrooms, and potatoes, thyme roasted chicken with apricot chutney and glazed chocolate heart cakes for dessert! It was INCREDIBLE!!! Everything was just delicious! The cool part is...with the menu the ingredients and cooking directions for each dish! We were not able to make it to the wedding so I am happy they had a reception here for us to help them celebrate their marriage! So CONGRATS TO GABE AND ROBIN....WE HOPE YOU HAVE A LIFETIME OF HAPPINESS TOGETHER!

A Crappy Week.

That just about sums it up.
Sawyer has been running a high temp for the last 24 hours.
The lady that has been watching Sawyer called last night and told us she can't watch him anymore.
The rest of the crap that has happened is to personal to share on a public blog.
